Future Countryside 2025—our third annual event—offers a unique opportunity to discuss how to balance the potential and growing concerns about the future of the countryside. It brings together people and organisations with diverse viewpoints to share a positive vision of rural Britain’s role in creating a healthier, happier, greener, and more prosperous country.

The aim is to bridge divisions, respect differences, and collaboratively consider what is right for the countryside as a central part of a better future for all. While last year’s event focused on the political arena during an election, this year expands the conversation to include nature and health alongside continued political discussion.

Young people from varied backgrounds will play a key role, as they will shape the future of the countryside more than any other group at the event. Though the programme features strong panellists and speakers, the real strength of Future Countryside lies in the commitment and expertise of all attendees, and active participation from the audience is encouraged.

The event will address clear challenges facing the countryside, including changes to environmental protection, funding, and taxation, while highlighting the positive impact rural areas can have if their potential is unlocked.
