About the role
The IDEA Interventionist Teacher works with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math, aiming to close these gaps within one school year. This role is integral to IDEA's AP for All initiative, providing systematic and intensive support to students who need extra help.
Responsibilities
- Teach Critical Student Intervention (CSI) small groups consisting of students needing academic support in reading and/or math.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate intervention efforts.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula, using assessments to track student progress and adjust lesson plans.
- Communicate students' progress to families weekly.
- Facilitate and use technology effectively to enhance student achievement.
- Develop and implement a behavior management system aligned with school-wide initiatives.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions and participate in school-wide meetings and functions.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting preferred.
- Holding or willingness to pursue a Florida educator certification.
- High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA.
Skills
- Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum.
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adjust to diverse classroom environments.

Pay and Schedule
The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $51,500. Additional stipends and hourly compensation are available based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership.
Schedule
Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week, with additional responsibilities such as after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed.
