About the Role
We are seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist specializing in minimally invasive, image-guided procedures within a dedicated IR department. This role involves assisting physicians during procedures such as angiography, biopsies, embolizations, and device placements while ensuring patient safety, maintaining sterile fields, and providing patient comfort.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures.
- Operate specialized radiologic equipment and transfer images.
- Assist physicians during image-guided procedures (e.g., angiography, biopsies, embolizations, device placements).
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Perform quality control on imaging equipment and procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives.
- Support education, mentorship, and training initiatives.
- May involve on-call duties.
Qualifications
Qualifications vary by level:
- Tech I: Post-secondary education in health sciences, no prior experience required, certification in BLS, and ARRT or CCI certification within 18 months.
- Tech II: Associate’s degree, at least 3 years of experience, current BLS, and relevant certifications (ARRT(RT)(VI/CI), RCES, or RCIS).
- Tech III: Associate’s degree, minimum 5 years of experience, current BLS, and certifications as above (ARRT(RT)(VI/CI), RCES, or RCIS).
Skills
- Knowledge of medical imaging and anatomy.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in high-pressure environments.
