Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist independently performs interventional procedures only, utilizing proper techniques and safe administration of contrast media. This role coordinates patient flow, supports IR operations, and exercises professional judgment to maintain equipment in optimal condition. The technologist will have on call responsibilities and support other IR related functions based on departmental needs.

Department Specific Job Details

• Education: Associates degree from an accredited institution required

• Certifications: CPR Certification, ARRRT RT(R) registry, ODH Radiologic License

• Preferred: ACLS, ARRRT Vascular-Interventional (VI) registry

• Experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience required, 3+ years of progressive Radiologic Technology experience required

Skills/Competencies

• Understanding: Strong understanding of human anatomy

• Technologies: Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records, Radiology Information Systems and image storage, Knowledge of advanced IR computer applications

• Safety: Strong understanding of radiation safety

• Work Capabilities: Demonstrated productivity, teamwork, and independent work capability

• Communication: Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
