About the role
The Interventional Radiology Research Associate supports a variety of clinical and academic research projects within the Department of Interventional Radiology at Rush University Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Mentor 1–2 medical students during a structured 6-month research period.
- Mentor IR/DR residents and medical students, providing research guidance and mentorship.
- Coordinate clinical trials, including patient screening, recruitment, and follow-up.
- Contribute to departmental research activities such as data collection, analysis, and manuscript development.
- Collaborate with faculty on both prospective and retrospective, outcome-based studies, including investigator-initiated, industry-sponsored, and NIH-funded trials.
- Ideally, have a background in Radiology or Interventional Radiology, prior experience in a clinical or academic research environment, and experience with statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, abstract development, and grant writing.
- Work closely with faculty on projects that involve artificial intelligence applications in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology.
Requirements
- A Medical Degree (MD).
- Knowledge of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and IRB protocols.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Ability to work 8 hours daily in a hospital, ambulatory clinic, and computer-based setting.
Qualifications
- A background in Radiology or Interventional Radiology is preferred.
- Experience with artificial intelligence applications in Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology is preferred.
Skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.

- Effective communication and mentoring skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis, manuscript preparation, abstract development, and grant writing.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, with offers varying based on individual circumstances.
Schedule
The role is full-time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0), with a shift of 8 hours (8:00:00 AM - 4:30:00 PM).
