This position performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the direction of a radiologist, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The role may require coverage at various locations within the network.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, and imaging site.
• Protocols procedures with radiologist as needed.
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment.
• Performs Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure safety and comfort.
• Administers contrast materials as required and initiates emergency response to contrast reactions when needed.
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance, including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols.
• Utilizes RIS, PACS, and other ancillary image management systems as needed.
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department’s activities.
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order, performs and documents all required quality control testing, and contacts service for repair and maintenance as directed.
• Rotates throughout the department as staffing and volume dictates.
• Participates in orientation, training, and in-servicing of staff as needed.
• Maintains an orderly, clean, and safe environment for patients and staff in assigned area, including stock and inventory management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an accredited NLN/CCNE or ARRT Vocational/Specialized Training (Bachelor's Degree preferred).
• 10 months of Radiology experience.

Qualifications

• Valid and current AZ State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license.
• Valid and current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider course certification (must be provided prior to start date).
• Valid and current Arizona state-licensed ARRT Vascular Interventional (VI) or ARRT Radiology (R) and Cardiac-Interventional Certification (CI) through ARRT (preferred).
