Interventional RAD Tech (Casual/PRN)

About the role

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Casual/PRN Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our team in Orlando, Florida. The Special Procedures/Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist will perform interventional radiology procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed independent practitioner, ensuring patient care and operation of all IR-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology procedures as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner, including cardiovascular interventional procedures and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, start and maintain intravenous access, and access ports as prescribed.
• Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed independent practitioner.
• Place, maintain, and remove peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) as prescribed.
• Ensure patient safety and report unsafe practices or incidents in the Medical Imaging Department and IR suite.
• Properly identify all images in the PACS and accurately document in the electronic patient record.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and answer pertinent questions.
• Maintain work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, including reporting unsafe conditions.
• Operate hospital computer systems for patient data entry, retrieval, order entry, and study completion.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient’s chronological age, developmental age, or social maturity (infant, child, adult).
• Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with state, federal, and institutional policies.
• Follow all ARRT, ASRT, state, and institutional guidelines and policies.
• Work collaboratively as a team member and independently, engaging in critical thinking to improve care quality.
• Assist in training new personnel, students, and physicians.
• Order and maintain supplies, ensuring proper function of equipment through usage and maintenance.
• Regular attendance is required; must work a flexible schedule, including on-call shifts, and have reliable transportation.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, including accepting feedback, asking questions, and actively engaging with counterparts and all departments.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree required.
• Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of experience required.
• Florida State Radiation License required.
• ARRT registration required.
• AHA BLS Certification required.
• Advanced certification in Cardio-Vascular preferred.
