Interventional Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider
About the role
This Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a Cath Lab Interventional Cardiology role located primarily at Saint Luke's East (inpatient) and clinic at Saint Luke’s East and Blue Springs locations. The primary patient population is adult. There is a weekend and holiday commitment for this role.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the medical management of the Cardiology patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider.
- Utilizes prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Obtains and documents relevant problem focused or comprehensive history from patient/medical records in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively using appropriate terminology, format, and technology in accordance with health system policies.
- Analyzes data to determine health status.
- Communicates effectively with other healthcare professionals.
- Performs an accurate physical exam.
- Demonstrates basic science and up to date clinical knowledge.
- Establishes a patient relationship characterized by mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration.
- Takes initiative for seeking opportunities to advance knowledge and experiences.
- Flexibility with scheduled rotations / locations as needed to ensure patient needs are met.
Requirements
- Successfully completed a Master’s degree (or higher level of educational program).
- Met the requirements for the respective State Board(s) (Missouri and Kansas).
- Holds and maintains a national certification and licensure as required by State Boards and Saint Luke’s Health System, as well as other certification as obligatory for this role.
- Accurately diagnoses and treats Cardiology disease processes including general cardiology with a focus on subspecialized patient populations as indicated.
