Responsibilities

  • Create structured, engaging, and individualized learning experiences that help students build essential academic, social, and behavioral skills.
  • Guide a small classroom environment, deliver instruction aligned with each student’s IEP, and collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to support meaningful growth.
  • Lead a small manageable and self-contained classroom and provide individualized, hands-on daily instruction.
  • Collaborate with other special education professionals and disciplines to work effectively with each student.
  • Plan and teach lessons aligned with each student’s IEP goals.
  • Absorb academic, behavioral, and social growth and adjust instruction using data.
  • Partner with families, support staff, and service providers to coordinate student support.
  • Maintain clear documentation to support compliance and progress monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or a related field.
  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License or Alternative Resident Educator License.
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with families and school teams.
  • Dedication to inclusive, student-centered instruction and behavioral support.
  • Comfortable with challenging behaviors and openness to learning support strategies.
