Interrelated Special Education Teacher, High School
About the position
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to support high school students in an inclusive educational environment. The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality instructional services to students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with general education staff, families, and school personnel to promote student success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to high school students receiving special education services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Provide consultation and support to general education staff regarding accommodations and modifications.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, district, and school special education regulations.
Qualifications
- Required: Active Georgia Special Education Teaching Certification. Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements. Ability to work effectively within a collaborative educational team. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum one (1) year of teaching experience. Georgia certification in Special Education with applicable content-area credentials for: English Language Arts (ELA), Math/Science, Social Studies, Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification. Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement. Current CPR certification (if applicable). Current health certificate and TB screening documentation (if required by state or district regulations).
