This position is expected to start around January or February 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. International students must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site.

About The Team

The Quality Engineering Team members analyze data, surface takeaways, and communicate recommendations to leaders at all levels. This internship role supports the production of high-quality products through continual improvement of process and product quality. The successful candidate must be a problem-solver with a strong quality and customer-focused mindset, and a drive for relentless improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor manufacturing processes and create/monitor quality data systems
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement best practices
  • Perform design engineering analysis and review engineering documentation
  • Capture and document root cause analysis
  • Contain defective products through problem definition (8D’s), Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s), leading dispositions, and resolution effectiveness tracking
  • Review, develop, and implement revised/new processes using Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to achieve quality standards
  • Detect non-conformances through standardization of SPC systems and Change Control management
  • Ensure standards and specifications by championing product/process Control Plans, Inspection Standards, quality and testing plans, Visual Work Instructions, and Technical Specifications
  • Prevent failed customer satisfaction and durability by coordinating Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA’s), product design specifications, and supplier development

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Prior internship experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Evidence of bringing assignments to successful completion
  • Strong verbal/written communication and computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to multi-task effectively within a team environment in managing priorities

Pay

Expected compensation: $27.76 - $43.75/hour + benefits. Pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
