Overview
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County, a program of JRI, investigates child abuse cases and provides trauma-informed care to children and families. Interns can work in either a clinical or non-clinical capacity.
Internship Paths
- HARP Program Intern: Master’s level, 2nd year placements, working with children and families affected by trauma.
- Non-Clinical Placement: Bachelor’s or Master’s level, working directly with parents/caregivers during forensic interviews, assessing child and family needs, providing support, and making referrals.

Requirements
- Minimum working towards a Master’s degree or above in the mental health field (LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT).
- Bachelor’s degree interns may be considered for non-clinical placement, if actively enrolled in a BA program working towards degree.
- Clinical interest in working with children/adolescents is required, and familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment is preferred.
- Good written and oral communication skills are necessary.
- Background and driving record checks will be performed.
