About the role

The position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). Applicants must commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Solar Design team to propose solutions for Tesla energy products.
  • Ensure designs adhere to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
  • Develop manufacturing methods and select equipment necessary to commercialize the Solar products.
  • Oversee installation and ensure ramp-up of manufacturing equipment.
  • Support the design, assembly, and debugging of equipment, including hardware selection and basic programming.
  • Develop and modify HMI screens using Ignition to improve operator experience and assist with MES interface validation.
  • Learn to maintain and troubleshoot control systems including PLC and industrial networks.
  • Characterize baseline performance and capability of each system and drive actions to maintain or improve performance as measured by product yield and tool availability.
  • Drive other projects as needed by management or as business needs change.

Requirements

Pursuing Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience with EPLAN software or Electrical AutoCAD.

Experience programming PLCs and articulated robots.

Practical skills with industrial electrical systems including 480V 3-phase, 110VAC, and 24VDC.

Experience in electrical panel building.

Strong hands-on experience, preferably with high-volume and pilot manufacturing.

Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively achieve results with multiple vendors and internal and external customers.

Proven ability to work well with production personnel of all levels.

Qualifications

Be able to read electrical schematics and familiar with electrical code.

Skills

Must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site.

Pay

$20.00 - $50.00/hour + benefits
