Internship, Factory Firmware Integration Engineer, Energy Engineering (Winter/Spring 2027)
About the role
Tesla Energy is hiring a Factory Firmware Integration Intern based at the Buffalo, NY GFNY factory. This is a manufacturing‑line internship: you will flash, provision, and test Tesla Energy products at high volume, write and debug Go and Python software, help define test coverage at each assembly step, debug units with high failure rates on the line, and work with manufacturing, test, and product firmware so factory firmware can run at rate. You will also work on bringing up testers, finding yield improvements, and reducing cycle time of embedded/on‑station tests.
The position is expected to start January 2027 and continue through the entire Winter/Spring term (i.e. through April/May 2026) or into Summer 2027 if available. A minimum commitment of 12 weeks, full‑time (40 hours/week) on‑site is required; you must be able to work 40 hours per week. Relocation to Buffalo, NY is required.
