INTERNSHIP:Computational Fluids Dynamics (CFD) Software Test Engineer

About the Role

This position is within the Dassault Systemes SIMULIA R&D organization, working closely with CFD Product Management, Industry Experts, and Software Development teams to build, test, release, and support CFD software products and technologies. The role is fully onsite in Johnston, RI, with some flexibility for remote days. It starts as a 3-month internship at 40 hrs/week, with the option to extend for an additional 9 months at 30 hrs/week.

Responsibilities

• Perform test definition and execution of 3DEXPERIENCE Fluids CFD simulation applications
• Assist in planning, coordination, and support of CFD Beta sessions
• Drive continuous process and test improvement initiatives, including developing a continuous automated testing system
• Validate CFD Industry models and workflows across supported environments, including HPC On Premises and On Cloud
• Perform non-functional testing: installation, licensing, performance, and scalability tests
• Review software requirements, specifications, and technical design documents
• Analyze, debug, and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Identify and document software defects, validate fixes
• Participate in release readiness assessments

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in engineering with a focus on Fluid Mechanics / Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
• 3.0 or greater GPA
• Experience/coursework with at least one CFD software product
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude, self-starter, strong interpersonal skills, and team player mentality
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Cloud Computing & HPC technologies
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or other programming languages
• Prior Fluids / CFD Industry experience
• Understanding of software testing concepts

Pay

The total expected compensation range is between $32 and $40 per hour, representing the base salary and target bonus, commensurate with experience.
