International Tax Manager
About the role
The International Tax Manager role is a national business line position. You'll manage and deliver U.S. international tax services for clients across various industries and market segments. You'll collaborate with partners and managing directors, and work with managers, associates, and global teammates to help clients with complex business problems through Grant Thornton solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements
- Plan, execute, direct, and complete international tax projects
- Provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients
- Manage engagements to budget
- Consult with clients on tax-efficient structuring of international transactions, effective use of tax treaties, planning related to offshore investment activities and repatriation strategies to minimize U.S. and foreign income taxes
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex international tax returns to ensure quality
- Work closely with partners, managers, and associates to integrate practice development skills into a team approach to client service and new business development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum five to seven years of progressive tax consulting experience, preferably with at least three years focused on international taxation
- Experience with a large accounting firm, law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company
- CPA or JD/active law license required
- Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in U.S. tax compliance and consulting
- Strong computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Can travel as needed

Benefits
Base salary range: $151,800 - $189,750
Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton’s discretion, based on multiple factors including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.

Schedule
Requires in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a GT office or client site.
