International Tax Director – Irvine

About the role

As the firm continues to grow its international tax practice, it is looking for an International Tax Director who wants to play a meaningful role in that growth. This role could suit an experienced Tax Director, a strong Senior Manager ready to step up, or a tax professional seeking greater visibility, influence, and a genuine voice in the direction of their practice.

The role combines technical leadership with client-facing responsibility, business development, and team development. The firm sees this hire as a potential future Partner and is prepared to invest in someone who can build lasting client relationships, develop people, and help grow the international tax offering.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex international tax engagements and provide high-level technical advice.
• Develop trusted relationships with business owners, executives, and other key decision-makers.
• Work closely with Partners and colleagues across the wider tax and accounting practice.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and develop new business.
• Mentor and develop talented tax professionals, helping shape the next generation of the team.
• Influence the continued development of the firm’s international tax practice.
• Build the profile, relationships, and commercial leadership expected of a future Partner.

Qualifications

We’re interested in experienced international tax professionals who combine strong technical credentials with commercial curiosity and a genuine interest in working with clients. You are likely to be a Senior Manager or Director in public accounting, with significant experience across international tax and a CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
