Hobré Instruments is an ever-growing company based in the Netherlands with headquarters in Purmerend and offices in Texas, USA and Hungary. Since 1978, we have provided analyzer and sample solutions to almost every industry worldwide. Our systems are used in petrochemical plants, food and pharma, energy plants, and steel factories. Hobré is involved in every step of product development—from design and manufacturing to commissioning, maintenance, and on-site user training. We take pride in our work and continuously innovate our wide range of custom-designed products, including online analyzers, sampling probes, entire sampling systems, and integrated systems.

About the role

As one of our service engineers, you’ll join a small but highly skilled team of professionals focused on teaching and learning. Your work will be split between internal tasks at the factory/office and external assignments on-site.

  • Internal work includes remote technical support, performing repairs, and testing products before they leave the factory.
  • External work involves traveling worldwide for commissioning, user training, troubleshooting, or preventative maintenance.

Most travel will be solo, requiring a strong independent mindset and a broad range of technical and communication skills. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams and cultures, often in high-pressure situations, and work on various systems across multiple industries. This role offers significant variety, challenges, and opportunities for growth—ensuring no two days are the same.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanics, Chemical engineering, or a similar field.
  • Affinity with process technology and instrumentation.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • A positive, independent, practical, and analytical mindset with the ability to work in a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
