About the role

The International Operations Agent II coordinates the day-to-day import and export of international freight forwarding shipments across all transportation modes, ensuring customer requests are met efficiently and profitably.

Responsibilities

  • Qualify customer shipping requirements and gather necessary details (regulations, certificates, documentation) to ensure accurate shipment quotations and operational compliance.
  • Prepare profitable and precise shipping quotations.
  • Set shipping schedules and communicate with customers, deliverers, and ports to confirm loading, departures, and arrivals.
  • Coordinate daily import/export operations, including reviewing orders and documents.
  • Track shipments, communicate delays or damages, and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Manage all aspects of air and/or ocean international operations, including customer service, data entry, operations, and billing.
  • Monitor shipments to ensure adherence to schedules, updating systems immediately upon verification.
  • Identify and rectify deviations from shipment schedules.
  • Coordinate recovery and delivery schedules with cartage agents and international partners.
  • Partner with local sales teams to address and communicate problems to customers, partners, and other stations.
  • Ensure compliance with customer SOP instructions, AIT KPIs, and company guidelines.
  • Ensure all shipments are billed accurately and within company timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required); GED or High School Diploma (preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in export/import operations (required).
  • 5+ years of experience as a freight forwarder for international operations, including knowledge of basic IATA/NVOCC, FAA, TSA, export regulations, AES, and general CBP requirements (required).
  • Intermediate knowledge of ITAR, Dangerous Goods (DG), or TSA regulations/work experience.
  • Medium-level general computer skills.

Qualifications

  • CCS-Certified Coding Specialist - Certified Cargowise Specialist (required).
  • Dangerous Goods Certification (preferred).

Pay

The wage range for this position is $32.70–$46.20 per hour, varying based on geography, knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.
