International konsulent

Halvdelen af de 15 millioner frivillige i den internationale Røde Kors-bevægelse er unge. De kører ambulance, redder liv ved oversvømmelser og spiller en aktiv rolle i krig og konflikt. I Ungdommens Røde Kors samarbejder vi med Dansk Røde Kors om at styrke involveringen af unge lokale frivillige i Røde Kors’ partnerlande, herunder Kenya, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, Ukraine, Etiopien m.fl. Vi arbejder med Røde Kors forankrede metoder som Psykisk førstehjælp, Life Skills og konflikthåndtering. Vores arbejde består i at klæde unge i Røde Kors bevægelsen på til at bidrage i deres lokalområde. Derudover bidrager vi til at de nationale Røde Kors-selskaber udvikler strategier og planer, der øger involveringen af de unge.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for URK’s international collaborations with Dansk Røde Kors and national Red Cross societies, focusing on youth engagement.
• Ensure coordination, ongoing dialogue, progress, and follow-up with international partners.
• Conduct training and courses in Life Skills, Conflict Management, volunteer leadership, and Sprint (kickstarting youth activities). Plan, execute, and evaluate these formats.
• Contribute to the development of new activities, methods, and projects in collaboration with Dansk Røde Kors and national Red Cross societies, focusing on strengthening youth participation and agency.
• Develop and write applications for funding from DUF and CISU in collaboration with Dansk Røde Kors and national Red Cross societies.
• Contribute to the development of strategies, plans, and initiatives that strengthen the involvement of young volunteers in the Red Cross movement.
• Coordinate and train Danish volunteers for international assignments.

You will be part of an international team consisting of 4-5 consultants. Expect 3-6 weeks of travel per year, with the possibility of more if needed. Some weeks you may facilitate for 30 young volunteers in Malawi or Nepal, while other weeks involve project development, applications, and coordination.

Requirements

• Experience with facilitation, youth engagement, and project management in an international context.
• Experience with project management involving multiple stakeholders in an international setting.
• Experience in building and maintaining collaborations and driving progress through dialogue, coordination, and joint problem-solving.
• Experience in teaching and facilitating courses for young people, preferably in an international context. Experience with organizing or similar methods is a plus.
• Experience in applying for funding from donors such as CISU, DUF, or similar.
• Experience in developing and adapting educational materials.
• Motivation to work with youth engagement and involvement.
• Pragmatic, relationship-oriented, and able to navigate a large and complex international organization with many guidelines and rules.

Pay

Employment follows the collective agreement with salary placement based on seniority. Paid lunch break included.

Schedule

• 37-hour workweek, based at Ungdommens Røde Kors’ secretariat on Hejrevej 30 in Copenhagen NV.
• Evening and weekend work may occur periodically.
• Emphasis on a good work-life balance with flexible work arrangements.
• Travel readiness required, with the possibility of being away from home for up to 3-4 weeks at a time.

This position is temporary for one year, with the possibility of extension.
