Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring foreign currency due from accounts, maintaining optimal balances based on customer activity and currency fluctuations, and ensuring sufficient funding in nostro accounts for international payments.
Essential Functions
- Maintains appropriate balances based on customer transactions and market fluctuations.
- Supports issuance, maintenance, and negotiation of letters of credit and documentary collections.
- Processes participation transactions from agent banks to reflect accurate global liabilities.
- Reviews and organizes letter of credit documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to imaging.
- Handles customer transactions and correspondence efficiently and accurately.
- Serves as a resource for lending officers, correspondent banks, and internal departments regarding foreign exchange rates and trade finance instruments.
- Maintains foreign correspondent bank relationships, including AML/KYC reviews.
- Pursues professional development and networking opportunities to enhance industry knowledge.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Requires 3-5 years of related experience or 2-3 years of previous banking experience.
- Background in international payments and/or commercial loan operations is preferred.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, currency exchange platforms, and banking software systems.
Physical Demands
- Extended period(s) of time may be spent viewing a personal computer, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
