About the Role
The International Banking Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day processes pertaining to the department’s activities. Functions performed generally involve high monetary exposure and risk with large dollar volumes.
Responsibilities
- Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
- Issues and amends Import Letters of Credit.
- Negotiates Import documents.
- Issues Acceptance under Import Letter of Credit.
- Issues Shipside Bonds and Airway Bill Releases.
- Processes Import LC Payments and ensures BA payments are processed on time, at maturity.
- Advises and amends Export Letters of Credit.
- Negotiates Export documents.
- Processes Export LC Payments.
- Cancels expired or unused Import and Export Letters of Credit.
- Performs monthly balancing of Import LC and BAs.
- Ensures outstanding Import LCs and BAs balance with GL Accounts and Sub-Notes.
- Maintains Import LC Maintenance Files (Current RCEs, Continuing LC Agreements, Additional Information).
- Performs Blackline Reconciliation of GL Accounts.
- Prepares and maintains Customer Profile Files.
- Assists with providing information and guidance to Import and Export Prospects.
- Provides training and ongoing support to the International Collections Specialist.
- Assists with Standby LC operations.
- Reviews all SWIFT MT094 messages and communicates information when necessary.
- Provides, presents, and promotes The Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
- Assists other associates in the department, as needed, to complete daily work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Trade products.
- Understanding of Trade Finance structure at Citizens Business Bank.
- Experience with Letters of Credit.
- Knowledge and experience with Uniform Customs and Practices 500 and ISP 98.
- Knowledge and experience with Foreign Documentary Collection 200.
- Working knowledge of the International SWIFT System.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite software, as well as GFX, Navigator, and Swift.
- Current driver's license.
- Must be able to travel ten percent of the time.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Pay
Salary Range: $23.93 to $32.31 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, education, and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
