Internal Substitute

Position Summary

Teaches and facilitates learning for elementary and middle school age students in a dual language, Spanish-English school. Works with teachers, parents, and students to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of every student. Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth and maturation.

About the Role

Supports the Mission and Vision of Salida del Sol Academy. Assumes responsibility for overseeing classroom instruction, pupil behavior in class and during lunch and recess periods. Shares your passion in helping young students develop a love of learning. Instruct and motivate students to find the joy of learning in all content areas. Records absences in accordance with school procedures. Maintain discipline in the classroom. Communicate with parents to discuss student progress and problems. Inspire students with consistency, care, and interest to build self-esteem and promote continued success. Be a positive influence for students, compliment them and encourage them to build character. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Current teaching license or CDE substitute license
• Salida del Sol Academy may sponsor 1 year Substitute Licensure
• Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish desired

Skill Requirements

• Strong organizational, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with computer technologies
• Strong classroom management of approximately 22 students
• Able to implement teaching curriculum programs and instruct students on utilization
• Able to be flexible and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Able to interact appropriately with children of different ages

Compensation

• Annual Salary Range $28,472-$38,357 depending on experience and education
• Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits

• Accrued Paid Leave at 8 hours per calendar month worked; Total 80 hours
