Responsibilities

• Provides the highest quality evidence-based comprehensive medical care to SEARHC patients with special emphasis toward chronic illness in adult and elderly populations.
• Guides, consults, and advises other SEARHC medical staff, including Advanced Practice Clinicians, throughout the health system.
• Manages a panel of internal medicine patients in coordination with the integrated care team.
• Documents all patient services in the medical record according to medical staff rules and regulations.
• Participates in SEARHC quality and performance improvement programs.
• Teaches medical students and resident physicians.
• Maintains licensure and board certification through ongoing medical education.
• Serves at facilities within the SEARHC care network and other contracted facilities.
• Performs minor and major surgical skills as required.

Requirements

• MD or DO with completion of accredited Internal Medicine residency.
• Board-certified or board-eligible.
• Active Alaska license or ability to obtain BLS certification.

• Supports SEARHC standards of care, The Joint Commission, EMTALA, HIPAA, health care risk management principles, and medical ethics.
• Uses the electronic medical record and other clinically required technology efficiently.
• Communicates clearly through oral and written methods, analyzes complex situations, and solves problems.
• Works collaboratively with staff and patients, being sensitive to culture, race, age, gender, and disabilities.
• Has received adequate training and remains proficient in minor and major surgical skills.

Benefits

• Compensation salary: $269,259 - $299,177 based on years of experience, with additional productivity bonus based on wRVUs, and quality incentives.

• $269,259 - $299,177 based on years of experience.

Schedule

• Workweek: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with telemedicine included and four hours of administrative time with no call requirement.
• Generous Time Off: 33 days (264 hours) annually, including holidays, and 10 days of CME.

Practice Details

• Clinic facilities: 16 exam spaces with one procedure room.
• One medical assistant per physician, primary care nurse case manager, nurse triage, diabetic nurse educator, and nutritionist.
• Ancillary services include CT, Ultrasound, X-ray, pharmacy, laboratory services, and MRI.
• EMR and tools include Meditech, Dragon Dictation, and DAX AI assisted documentation.
• Procedure opportunities: Treadmill tests, Arthrocentesis, colposcopy, IND, Nexplanon, biopsies, toenail removal, joint injections, and OMT welcomed.
• Additional Care Opportunities: Occasional long-term care and home visits, optional involvement in rural outreach or consultative support, potential for hospital-based support or consults as needed.
• Close collaboration with onsite and visiting specialists (e.g., surgery, orthopedics, ENT).
