Internal Medicine - Geriatrics Physician
About the role
The incumbent will be responsible for providing clinical care for older adults in addition to interacting with learners. This position will join 5 faculty and 3 MSP staff physicians in the Division of Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Consult on complex older adult patients and their broad range of illnesses, conditions and circumstances in the outpatient setting.
- Participate in the coordination of care in the outpatient setting.
- Serve as an effective teacher.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, non-professional and professional caregivers as well as staff at institutions where patients reside.
Requirements
- Must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Board certified in Geriatric Medicine.
- Must be licensed in the state of California.
Qualifications
- Excellent understanding of the older adult care and the complexity of the health care system for older adults.
- Successfully work in multidisciplinary teams including nursing, pharmacy, social work and physical/occupational therapy.
