About the role
Bending Spoons seeks a seasoned professional to lead the internal audit function, focusing on SOX compliance, internal control evaluations, and the development of the internal audit program.
Responsibilities
- Own SOX compliance
- Manage end-to-end SOX compliance implementation across business processes and IT systems
- Lead internal control evaluations
- Test and assess controls across the organization—evaluate their effectiveness, identify gaps and risks, and drive remediation to resolution
- Drive the annual internal audit plan
- Develop and own internal audit programs across financial, operational, technology, and compliance areas
- Deliver findings and remediation recommendations to senior management and the audit committee
- Shape the internal audit function
- Contribute to building the function from the ground up
- Help establish and continuously evolve methodology, governance, and tooling
- Manage key stakeholder relationships
- Work closely with external auditors, senior management, and the audit committee
- Translate findings into clear communications and track the implementation of recommendations through to completion

Pay and Schedule
- Annual salary range: $123,616 - $257,642 in the US, £112,189 - £250,512 in London, and €82,557 - €188,848 elsewhere in Europe
- Compensation varies based on location and expected impact
- May extend beyond typical ranges for exceptional capability

- Permanent, full-time positions
- Location options: Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland), or fully remote from eligible countries
