Responsibilities
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams on troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives.
- Observe and assist with welding process development, testing, and continuous improvement projects for production.
- Observe and assist with qualification testing of welding personnel.
- Aid in the preparation of welding procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Support research and evaluation of welding techniques, equipment, and fabrication methods.
- Aid in weld inspections, testing, and documentation activities.
- Help collect and analyze production and quality data to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Support compliance with applicable welding standards such as ASME & NAVSEA.
- Participate in investigations related to weld quality, process optimization, and corrective actions.
- Research emerging welding technologies and industry best practices.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements within the manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Must be entering Sophomore or Junior year.
- Basic understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing principles.
- Must have experience with hands on welding processes such as GTAW & GMAW.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation is preferred.
- Interest in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, and welding technologies.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
- AutoCAD and Inventor experience with Solid Modeling and 3D design experience is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
