Intern - Weld Engineering

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams on troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives.
• Observe and assist with welding process development, testing, and continuous improvement projects for production.
• Observe and assist with qualification testing of welding personnel.
• Aid in the preparation of welding procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
• Support research and evaluation of welding techniques, equipment, and fabrication methods.
• Aid in weld inspections, testing, and documentation activities.
• Help collect and analyze production and quality data to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support compliance with applicable welding standards such as ASME & NAVSEA.
• Participate in investigations related to weld quality, process optimization, and corrective actions.
• Research emerging welding technologies and industry best practices.
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental requirements within the manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Must be entering Sophomore or Junior year.
• Basic understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing principles.
• Must have experience with hands on welding processes such as GTAW & GMAW.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation is preferred.
• Interest in industrial manufacturing, fabrication, and welding technologies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.
• AutoCAD and Inventor experience with Solid Modeling and 3D design experience is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
