Intern Undergraduate - Cost Accountant
JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Performs planned work to accomplish project goals while gaining experience with cost accounting practices, financial systems, and company policies.
- Assists with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting cost data to support operational and financial reporting needs.
- Supports preparation of cost reports, variance analyses, and summaries to identify trends, discrepancies, and improvement opportunities.
- Works with cross-functional teams such as operations, procurement, and finance to gather information and clarify cost-related data.
- Assists in developing and maintaining cost models, standard costing processes, and inventory valuation support as applicable.
- Supports the budgeting and forecasting process by compiling data and assisting in financial analysis.
- Affords assistance in identifying process improvements that enhance cost tracking accuracy and reporting efficiency.
- Maintains accurate records and supports data entry into financial systems and company databases.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Experience: No prior full-time experience required.
- Skills:
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, including cost accounting concepts.
- An analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- The ability to apply accounting concepts to support financial and operational decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general familiarity with financial systems or ERP platforms.
- A strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
LOCATION
Lakewood, Colorado – Open to candidates willing to relocate.

$33.00 to $33.00 - Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
