Intern - Transportation/Construction Engineering (Summer)

About the role

Interns will be involved in a variety of engineering related activities performed in support of design, construction or maintenance of state highway construction projects. Interns will further their knowledge and abilities in the civil engineering field. Duties are primarily performed outdoors and are physical in nature.

Responsibilities

• Participating on survey crew
• Materials testing
• Project inspection
• Data collection and verification
• Other engineering related activities

Qualifications

• Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
• By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
• All students are encouraged to apply, but preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions

Pay

• $22.74 (Non-Engineering Students)
• $25.08 (Engineering Students)
