About the role
The Student Medical Assistant is a participant in an approved clinical training program at North Canyon Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic medical assisting duties under direct supervision at all times.
- Apply knowledge and skills learned in the modules to real patient care situations.
- Function without independent action, performing tasks authorized by the supervising provider or instructor.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited Medical Assistant educational program approved by North Canyon Medical Center.
- Participation contingent on active enrollment and academic standing.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Adhere to all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Basic computer and typing skills required; experience with EHR preferred.
- BLS required within 6 months of starting.
- Must be supervised at all times by a licensed provider, nurse, or certified medical assistant.
