Job ID: ENGIE North America Inc., GBU Renewables & Flexible Power Division

About the role

As a Grid-Scale Renewables Solar Design Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in utility-scale solar project development while building technical skills in site design, energy modelling, and engineering analysis. Working alongside ENGIE’s solar design and engineering professionals, you will support the development of a growing portfolio of grid-scale renewable energy projects across North America.

In this role, you will contribute to site layout and energy production analyses using industry-standard tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, QGIS, and NREL SAM. You will also assist with evaluating design criteria, identifying site constraints and opportunities, preparing design inputs, and supporting engineering studies. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, workflow automation, and optimization initiatives that help drive more efficient project development.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to develop practical engineering skills while gaining an understanding of how utility-scale solar projects are designed, evaluated, and advanced from early-stage development through construction. You'll work with experienced engineers, learn industry-leading tools, and contribute to real projects that will deliver clean energy to communities across North America.
