About the role
Are you a curious and motivated student looking to gain hands-on experience in the world of optical networking and embedded software development? 1Finity America Inc. is seeking interns pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields to join our Software Development team in Richardson, TX. As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects that contribute to the development of next-generation optical transport systems. You’ll gain exposure to modern software practices, embedded Linux development, and collaborative engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software components for optical networking platforms.
- Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and agile development ceremonies.
- Support debugging and troubleshooting efforts across software and hardware interfaces.
- Contribute to documentation and automation tasks to improve development workflows.
- Learn and apply best practices in embedded systems and network software development.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with C/C++ programming, especially in systems or embedded contexts.
- Experience working with or learning Linux-based development environments.
- Exposure to version control systems like Git and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Interest in networking technologies and embedded systems.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
