Intern - Service High School

About the Role

Under the direction and guidance of the Shop Service Supervisor, the Intern – Shop Service will receive on-the-job training to learn and develop in all shop functions. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core values, collaborate with internal/external resources, and participate in ongoing self-development.

Responsibilities

• Attends required classroom instructions by Pro-Tech and HDSI classes
• Maintains safety training and procedures
• Performs maintenance tasks
• Helps install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic components
• Cleans and/or lubricates machines
• Examines and tests equipment, components, and parts to ensure proper functioning
• Adjusts, connects, or disconnects wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts using hand or power tools
• Adjusts, maintains, and repairs equipment and machine components
• Receives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service Leadership
• Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
• Works safely and adheres to all applicable safety policies
• Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent

Skills

• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Basic computer skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Time management and organizational skills
• Basic math calculations and ability to read, write, and understand work instructions

Physical Requirements

• Extended periods in a stationary position
• Frequent movement inside a warehouse environment
• Frequently lifts and moves products or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs
• Constant movement and use of limbs, requiring good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
• Ascends/descends ladders or stairs using both hands and feet
• Reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions
• Visually inspects work

Work Environment

• Generally performed in a warehouse environment with environmentally controlled conditions
• Occasionally works outdoors, exposed to weather extremes (inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity)
• Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
