Join Delta Air Lines as a Reservations Intern and help shape the future of customer care. You’ll work on high-impact projects that improve the servicing experiences for millions of customers while gaining hands-on experience in data analytics, process improvement, product management, or statistical modeling. While interning in reservations, you’ll gain real-world experience at a Fortune 100 company, experience presenting to an executive audience, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
What is Reservations?
Reservations serves as a key point of contact for our customers before, during, and after travel. This internship is a back-office role based at our General Offices (GO), where you’ll support our Customer Engagement Centers by providing behind-the-scenes support that helps improve the experience of both Delta customers and the agents who serve them.
Job Summary
The Reservations Intern serves as an internal consultant, leading semester-long projects that support divisional strategies and goals. These initiatives often involve cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities and recommend solutions that enhance both customer and employee experiences. Interns apply strong critical thinking and interpersonal skills to tasks such as:
- Resolving product and project issues and risks
- Performing extensive data collection and analysis
- Identifying process improvement opportunities
These large, complex projects may involve highly confidential material and carry moderate financial risk. The final project deliverable is a capstone presentation to division leaders highlighting lessons learned, impact made, and recommendations moving forward.
What You Need To Succeed
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Must not be enrolled in any classes, either remote or on-campus, during the duration of the program
- Must be able to work 16 consecutive weeks
- Must be able to come into Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta 4 times per week
- Must be a strong team player, detail-oriented, and able to perform well under pressure
- Must convey a professional image to all levels of associates
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Must be willing to travel as required
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge
- Experience in a previous corporate environment in a part-time or full-time capacity
- Completion of 60+ course hours by the start of the internship
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Technical skills, with an emphasis on SQL and at least one programming language
- Business skills such as business modeling, project management, or competitive analysis
- Completion or current enrollment in database, basic programming, or user interface courses
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Experience with simulation, modeling, and statistical analysis software
