Intern, Marketing - Fall Semester 2026

Responsibilities

• Aid in the planning and execution of key marketing initiatives and tentpole events.
• Conduct research on fan and social trends, presenting findings to the marketing department.
• Organize and maintain the marketing calendar, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
• Attend and capture content at various community and sponsored events, contributing to marketing materials.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to support marketing projects and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic planning, especially in marketing.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media trends and their intersection with basketball.
• Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and digital platforms.
• Extremely driven and organized, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey ideas clearly and concisely.

About the Role

The mission of the Boston Celtics internship program is to educate its participants in all aspects of operating a professional sports organization. Through observation and practical experience, interns learn how to function in a professional environment that requires a high energy level, the ability to perform under pressure, and the utilization of essential time management skills. Through these developments, the Boston Celtics strive to successfully prepare their interns to compete for positions in the professional sports industry.

The Boston Celtics have a rich history of standing for equality and respect, including drafting the first African American player, hiring the first African American coach, and playing the first all-black starting five. They have won a record 18 NBA Championships spanning six decades, including eight in a row from 1959-1966, and winning their most recent in 2024. In addition, 51 former Celtics players, management, coaches, or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The team has been operating under local ownership since 2002.
