Intern - Maintenance

About the Role

The Intern role within Veolia will take on projects from initiation to completion during their time with the team. The successful candidate will have visibility across many functional groups (engineering, operations, maintenance, etc.) and will continuously support efforts to optimize safety and manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures, and assist with process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diverse engineering activities involving design and/or redesign of testing equipment
  • Create layout, detail, and assembly drawings
  • Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to established policies, standards, and objectives; establish and/or update engineering standards and specifications as needed
  • Work with senior engineers to ensure projects meet design specifications and are completed on time and within budget
  • Provide technical support for testing and facility operations
  • Comply with all Veolia Company and HSE procedures and policies

Specific Projects

  • P&ID verifications / field verify accuracy
  • Identify all equipment associated with the P&IDs and verify equipment data is accurate
  • Identify all missing and incorrect equipment/data and redline P&ID with correct data
  • Identify systems with missing P&IDs
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure field data matches SAP data for equipment and update as needed
  • Prepare a final presentation for site leadership summarizing learning experience and project scope

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited University Degree program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably junior or senior)
  • Coursework in engineering problem solving using computer-based methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to work autonomously when provided work instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
