About the role

As an intern on the IT Audit team, you will help clients identify and manage business risk and improve IT processes and controls. Key services performed by the IT Audit team include System Organization Control (SOC) 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 attestation engagements and IT controls design and operating effectiveness assessments for financial audits.

You will gain valuable experience, use your critical thinking abilities to help clients solve problems, and apply your social skills to build rewarding business relationships. As a trusted advisor, you will remain informed on the latest information technology trends and emerging risks that impact our clients. You will work alongside Forvis Mazars senior staff and management personnel with clients in a variety of industries to develop your technical skills and strengthen the foundation of your career.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an understanding of IT controls associated with applications, databases, operating systems, networks, and reporting tools.
  • Perform IT general control audit procedures including walkthroughs and testing of IT general controls for areas such as change management, logical security, computer operations, and cybersecurity.
  • Work with client personnel to gain an understanding of IT processes and controls, obtain audit evidence, and analyze testing results.
  • Deliver Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall).
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Pay

Salary ranges for this role are as follows (hourly rate for non-exempt positions):

  • New York: $30 USD (eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a work week).
  • New Jersey: $30 USD (eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a work week).
  • Virginia: $30 USD (eligible for overtime pay at 1.5x hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a work week).

Total compensation and benefits consist of salary, group health plan benefits, 401(K), profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave. Salary will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position.
