Intern - Imaging

About the role

The radiology team at UAB St Vincent's East includes certified specialists who provide advanced imaging services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The team works collaboratively to support diagnostics and critical interventions, contributing directly to exceptional patient care and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide services to patients under the direct supervision.
• Prepare and position patients and select exposure factors accurately.
• Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
• Prepare for and assist the supervising technologists and physicians in a variety of imaging procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

Requirements

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Education: High school diploma equivalency AND enrolled in an accredited program specific to discipline.
