About the Role
The team offers high school students a unique opportunity to gain exposure to cutting-edge research focused in Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders. Interns will have the chance to learn in a collaborative environment that brings together experts from academic institutions and industry, providing insight into how scientific research translates into real-world impact. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, interns will be introduced to clinical research, laboratory processes, and data-driven science while contributing to meaningful projects. The program fosters curiosity, learning, and mentorship, making it an ideal environment for students interested in exploring careers in science, medicine, and research.
Responsibilities
- Support the laboratory team with biomaterials (including lab consumables and biospecimens)
- Assist with shipment, storage, inventory organization
- Contribute to project design and execution
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in high school in their senior/final year
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
- Have general knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with commonly used software and personal computers, depending upon assignment.

Schedule
40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 8:30-4:30 or 9am to 5pm for 8 weeks
Additional Information
This will be a paid, non-benefitted, and temporary position. New Employee Orientation will take place as soon as possible. The position is typically up to one year in length and works under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned department and area of study. These activities may include participation in a wide variety of projects. The position works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.
