Job Description Role Summary We are seeking a motivated Power, Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Product Engineering Intern to support the product engineering team in the characterization, validation, debug, and release of power management, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits products. This internship provides hands-on exposure to silicon bring-up, bench validation, test automation, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with design, test, quality, and manufacturing teams. The intern will contribute to real semiconductor products and help improve product performance, validation efficiency, and manufacturability through both manual and automated bench testing. Key Responsibilities Assist with silicon characterization of power, analog, and mixed-signal ICsSupport product validation, bring-up, and debug activities in the labDevelop and maintain automation scripts and tools for bench validation and measurement workflowsHelp automate repetitive validation tasks using tools such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar scripting environmentsAnalyze test data to identify trends, anomalies, parametric shifts, and yield issuesSupport root cause analysis and coordination of failure analysis effortsCreate and maintain test reports, characterization summaries, scripts, and engineering documentationWork with design, test, applications, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve product issuesAssist in defining and executing bench, lab, and system-level testsSupport correlation between ATE, bench measurements, and simulation or specification targetsHelp evaluate product behavior across process, voltage, temperature, and load conditionsContribute to continuous improvement of validation methodologies, automation frameworks, and debug workflows Requirements/Qualifications Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:Electrical EngineeringElectronics EngineeringMicroelectronicsPower ElectronicsAnalog/Mixed-Signal IC DesignOr a related fieldStrong interest in power management, analog circuits, mixed-signal ICs, and test automationBasic understanding of:analog and power circuitssemiconductor devicescontrol loopsmeasurement and test principlesProficiency with Microsoft Excel and technical documentationGood problem-solving, analytical, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a collaborative engineering environment Preferred Qualifications Coursework or project experience in:power electronicsanalog circuitsmixed-signal systemssemiconductor testingFamiliarity with lab equipment such as:oscilloscopeselectronic loadspower suppliesDMMsfunction generatorslogic analyzersExposure to programming or scripting tools such as:PythonMATLABLabVIEWTest automation frameworks or instrument control librariesBasic familiarity with ATE, bench debug, or characterization workflowsUnderstanding of datasheets, specifications, and validation methodsKnowledge of DC-DC converters, LDOs, references, op amps, or similar power/analog building blocksInterest in improving engineering productivity through automation Key Skills Analytical thinkingAttention to detailData interpretationDebugging mindsetProgramming/scriptingCommunicationTeamworkDocumentationLearning agility Travel Time No Travel Physical Attributes Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around Others Physical Requirements 80% sitting, 10% standing, 10% walking, 100% inside Microchip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
