Intern Engineer

Responsibilities

• Aid in the creation of innovative heavy-lift/heavy-transport solutions.
• Support Barnhart Engineers in completing assigned tasks and required deliverables.
• Perform AutoCAD/Inventor modeling.
• Create equipment layout drawings.
• Conduct basic steel design and calculations.
• Aid in engineering process and proposal creation (e.g., reference charts, Excel templates).
• Communicate regularly and clearly with Manager and other Barnhart team members.
• Provide local field support as needed.

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution.
• Prefer experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and quickly determine corrective actions.
• Creative thinking skills to make continuous improvements.
• Proven organizational skills.
• AutoCAD and solid modeling experience preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Flexibility to work long hours as needed, some weekend work required.
