INTERN COORDINATOR-BAS

SUMMARY/SCOPE/GOAL

Under the direction of the site coordinator, provide leadership for the supervision and development necessary for a successful childcare program.

Qualifications/Certifications

• REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent.
• REQUIRED: One (1) year successful experience in childcare or similar program.
• REQUIRED: Department of Children and Families Standards for Quality Afterschool Programs (SQAP-8hours online and in-service) and Quality Self-Assessment and Improvement of Afterschool Programs (SQAI-4 hours online as in-service) or equivalent DCF-AMAP Course Achieving and Maintaining Quality Afterschool Programs-12 hours; and School Age Certification/BAS Academy Levels I,II,and III (72 hours online) completed within 90 days of appointment.
• REQUIRED: American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• REQUIRED: Valid State Driver’s license.

Certifications/licenses/training

• PREFERRED/DESIRED: CDA (Child Development Associate) Certification or Vocational Child Care Training degree.

Qualifications/Certifications

• PREFERRED/DESIRED: Associate’s degree from and accredited educational institution in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
