Intern - Commercial Credit Analyst (Omaha and Kansas City)

About the role

The Commercial Credit Analyst Intern will be a part of our credit analyst teams. Through this work, the intern will develop core skills and working knowledge of FNBO Credit group, business practices and operations through educational sessions, straightforward projects, and other duties requested by the manager. The role is based onsite at the posted location, fostering innovation, mentorship, and a vibrant culture where ideas flow freely and relationships flourish.

Responsibilities

• Perform fundamental credit analysis tasks
• Participate in corporate internship program activities such as educational workshops, social events, community outreach, and bank-wide intern project
• Engage with personnel in other bank departments including Operations, Relationship Management, and Loan Documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the loan lifecycle and build cross‑functional relationships
• Assist in the preparation of loan presentation packets (credit memos) for new credit requests, loan renewals and annual reviews
• Spread and analyze financial information for borrowers, related entities, and guarantors
• Aid in ongoing monitoring of loan covenants to ensure borrowers remain in compliance with all covenants as specified in the loan agreement
• Verify accuracy of financial information in credit systems
• Complete a department‑specific project

Requirements

• Current university student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Unrestricted work authorization (no future sponsorship required)
