H.F. Lenz Company, a nationally recognized Top 100 building & design engineering firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to work on-site at our Johnstown, PA headquarters. Our internship program at HFL cultivates future engineering professionals, looking to gain hands-on, real-world experience to enhance their education and professional skills. What You'll Get to Do

• Support a variety of engineering tasks related to civil design.
• Learn basic principles of civil design, focused in land development and site surveying.
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design and survey concepts.
• Become an expert with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with surveys.

What You'll Need

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Academic coursework that is relevant to civil design is preferred.
• Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• A strong interest and desire to learn building systems design and construction.
