Learning Objectives and Outcomes

• Understand the basic principles and applications of human iPSC-based cellular models in neuroscience and biotechnology research.
• Develop proficiency in fundamental laboratory practices, including accurate protocol execution, sterile technique, experimental documentation, and appropriate use of controls.
• Gain supervised experience with human iPSC culture and differentiation to neurons followed by MEA-based neuronal assays, including assay setup, data collection, and quality-control procedures.
• Develop introductory skills in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting electrophysiological data.
• Strengthen scientific communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills through regular discussions of experimental design, results, troubleshooting, and relevant scientific literature.

Expected Outcomes

• Introductory knowledge of biomedical research, liver biology, laboratory safety, research ethics, and experimental design.
• Basic supervised skills in scientific observation, data interpretation, literature discussion, scientific communication, and introductory laboratory techniques such as pipetting and basic sample handling.
