About the Role

Michael Best is looking for a dynamic self-starter who is interested in the legal industry, to join our Waukesha Office for a Fall 2026 Internship. This intern will work closely with our Finance & Accounting team on a variety of critical projects and assignments, gaining invaluable experience in the legal industry and exposure to the business of a law firm.

Ideal Candidates

  • An eagerness to learn how a law firm operates, and/or interest in prelaw, law, or paralegal studies
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities
  • A passion for completing and producing accurate work
  • A proven track record of collaborating as part of a diverse team
  • Focused coursework in finance, accounting, math, or related subjects

Qualifications

  • Rising Junior, or Senior currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited university, with excellent academic credentials
  • Pursuing bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, data analysis, or related fields
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent judgment and strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, perform and remain calm while under pressure in a stressful and fast paced environment; as demonstrated through various accomplishments and activities (e.g.: leadership positions, extracurricular activities, team sports, maintaining a job while in school, etc.)
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Above-average software skills
  • Ability to work 20-24 hours a week
  • Valid authorization to work in the US
