About the role

Launch your career like an IBMer. As an IBM intern, you'll contribute to real client projects across diverse industries from day one, working alongside experienced IBMers. You'll develop technical expertise and consulting skills in a culture built on continuous learning, mentorship, and coaching. High-performing interns may advance to IBM's full-time Associate Program.

Responsibilities

  • Join cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for projects.
  • Document technical specifications and design decisions clearly for effective team and stakeholder communication.
  • Develop scalable, reusable code and champion code review processes to uphold high-quality standards.
  • Engage in full-stack, cloud-native development using design thinking to prioritize user experience, performance, security, quality, and stability.
  • Work with a diverse tech stack, including databases, operating systems, cloud providers, and modern UI frameworks, contributing to the entire product delivery lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a university degree with a track record of academic success (Preferred Majors: MIS, CS, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Human Resources, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Economics, User Experience Design, Web Development).
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enhance collaboration and relationship-building while managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment.
  • Initiative and passion for seeking new knowledge, improving skills, and embracing a growth mindset.
  • Leadership experience and effective communication through active listening, adaptability, and readiness to take ownership of tasks.
  • Exposure to one or more of the following: Java, C++, Python, Scala, R, SAS, SQL, HTML, SPSS, VBA, Tableau, systems design/development, hyperscale platforms, or information technology.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge or interest in database development, cloud platforms, web markup languages, container technology, and generative AI.
  • Exposure to web services, APIs, and multiple Java application frameworks.
  • Knowledge or interest in design patterns, performance tuning, automated and unit testing.
  • Preferred certifications: Oracle Academy, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Foundations, Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM/SCM certifications.
  • Exposure to SQL/PLSQL, cloud basics, integration patterns (REST/SOAP APIs), data migration tools (FBDI, HDL), reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher), and data visualization (Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar AI assistants for research, writing, analysis, and productivity improvement.
