Intern, AI and Digital Innovation

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the AI Discovery Lab and Study Group
• Maintain an inventory of AI initiatives
• Track use cases, pilots, and outcomes
• Run small pilots and proofs of concept
• Research and test chatbots and generative AI tools for usefulness, risks, and accessibility
• Document risks and unintended impacts
• Support staff training on AI tools
• Develop guidance materials, job aids, and FAQs
• Provide assistance to staff experimenting with AI

Qualifications

• Education: Current undergraduate student pursuing a degree in computer science, information systems management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of work experience, education, and training.
• Core Competencies: Demonstrated interest in AI and emerging technologies; familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT), chatbots, or AI-assisted workflows; strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language; strong oral and written communication skills; proficiency in MS Office suite and Windows 11 OS.
• Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation workflows; experience coordinating projects or maintaining documentation; exposure to training, facilitation, or peer learning; understanding of ethical, responsible, or inclusive technology practices; experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
