About the role
The Survivor Advocacy Intern works alongside Advocates to support crisis response, case management, and survivor-centered services for individuals impacted by human trafficking.
Responsibilities
- Direct Support (Under Supervision):
- Assist advocates during crisis response calls (shadowing initially)
- Help meet immediate survivor needs: clothing, food, resources
- Participate in CSE-IT vulnerability assessments (training provided)
- Aid in ongoing advocacy, emotional support, and case management
- Coordinate referrals and develop service plans
- Maintain communication with clients under advocate direction
- Document supervised interactions within 24–72 hours
- Administrative & Program Support:
- Organize and restock the client clothing closet
- Support the Dignity Program: outreach to businesses, resource development
- Gather resource information for advocates and survivors
- Attend MDT meetings, case staffing’s, and selected trainings
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and the Advocacy Resiliency Group
- Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables
Requirements
- Pass all required background checks and screenings
- Participate in all program trainings
- Demonstrate strong communication, emotional regulation, organization, and leadership potential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
