Intermittent Interpreter - Haitian Creole
Summary
Intermittent Interpreters provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services during court proceedings. They may also assist court staff with interpreting in a customer service setting and provide sight translations as needed. These positions are court employees scheduled on an as-needed basis, with no set work schedule. Eligible for Social Security and Workers' Compensation coverage.
SALARY RATE
- $47.20 per hour
- Four-hour minimum guarantee of paid time (provided the Interpreter agrees to be available)
- Paid hourly for each additional hour worked past the four-hour guaranteed minimum
Minimum Qualifications
Valid and current certification as a "Certified Court Interpreter" in Haitian Creole, as issued by the Judicial Council of California.
